VieSID offers a comprehensive series of courses guiding dentists and dental technicians through the use of 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 and the application of 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀 for 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆.

In these courses,𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗼𝗹𝘀 anchored in 𝗥𝘂𝗱𝗼𝗹𝗳 𝗦𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗸’s concepts are explained, and the CADIAS® 3D tools of the GAMMA dental software for occlusal analysis are explored (3D Dentistry Seminar).

In the Digital Dental Technology workshop, GAMMA is exploited as an interface with exocad, and hands-on work is carried out for digital splint design and crown modeling.

In the Digital Wax-Up workshop, Class I, II, III, and crossbite wax-ups are performed based on Slavicek’s occlusal concepts and integrating the patient’s individual parameters.

These courses, taken jointly or singularly, will help you confidently 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀.

After 17 years of successful leadership, Christian Slavicek is stepping aside with the firm belief that Cinzia Fornai will continue offering the association long-term development and stability. Thanks to her academic background in biology and evolutionary anthropology https://orcid.org/0000-0002-0911-0164 combined with her scientific interest in the stomatognathic system and her long-term didactical experience, she will be able to orchestrate VieSID´s research and educational activities fruitfully.

We are happy to welcome our new VieSID partner, further expanding our international family of affiliates. Big thanks to Mr. Nguyen Van Dung for his trust in the VieSID and our systematics in individualized functional dentistry.

Over the past few days, the first VieSID Basic Curriculum in Hanoi took place, led by Daniele Togni as the main instructor, with Nelson Oppermann and Ken Tajima as clinical instructors.

The event was a great success, also thanks to the high-quality education of the doctors who participated, and the impeccable organization of Mr. Dung. We look forward to further collaboration and foresee a brilliant future for the VieSID concept in Vietnam.

During this event, dental wear was discussed both from the point of view of the anthropologists and of the clinicians. Extended debate on these different but not mutually exclusive interpretations of dental wear were recently published in two separate articles in the Argentinian Journal of Biological Anthropology, by Andrea Cucina https://revistas.unlp.edu.ar/raab/article/view/15304 and by Miguel Assis and Alejandra Londoño https://revistas.unlp.edu.ar/raab/article/view/16597 .

We find these contributions inspiring and entertaining.

The editors of the Argentinian Journal of Biological Anthropology (Revista Argentina de Antropología Biológica, RAAB https://revistas.unlp.edu.ar/raab/index), Lumila P. Menéndez and Angelina García offered us the opportunity to publish the outcomes of our workshop in a dedicated Dossier entitled “Anthropology meets Dentistry in Central America: Education and Research in Oral Biology. The AnthropologyCA workshop” composed of an introduction and 5 articles, and retrievable under https://revistas.unlp.edu.ar/raab/issue/view/1050.

We hope this endeavor will inspire researchers and clinicians to work jointly for the advancement of oral health, especially for the benefit of disadvantaged human groups.
